History of Knox Fire
Knox Fire Protection was founded in 2010 by Shamus Knox and has been offering exceptional fire protection to Okanagan business owners and residents ever since. Back in 2005, Shamus worked for a long-standing local company called G&G Fire Protection. During his time there he worked his way up through various positions. In 2010 Shamus purchased the company and rebranded to Knox Fire Protection Inc.Â

Shamus Knox
Shamus was born in Edmonton and lived there until the age of nine, when his family moved to Kelowna. Following high school, he returned to Edmonton and enrolled in NAIT. In 2003, Shamus began his work in the trade through a red seal apprentice program. After working in Edmonton for a few years and gaining valuable experience, Shamus returned to sunny Kelowna in 2005 and became a journeyman.
After working across a few trades, Shamus identified a real need for people in Sprinkler Fitting. As a very specialized trade that doesn’t cross over to other applications, he thought it was a great career opportunity – which ultimately proved true.
On a personal note, Shamus spends his time soaking up the Okanagan sunshine with his wife and two children. He enjoys the smaller city atmosphere of Kelowna and its outdoor playground that offers year-round activities.
